Minx Consulting are helping to celebrate 25 years of first class care at Barnsley Hospice.
The hospice, which provides specialist palliative care to local people from all over Barnsley, is holding a host of events are due to take place throughout the year to raise funds for the charity which opened its doors in 1994.
To help this great cause Minx Managing Consultant, Sophia Ali, has donated two original oil paintings for auction and free Driver CPC Training for the volunteer drivers for the charity.
Corporate Fundraiser at Barnsley Hospice, Simon Atkinson says "We are incredibly grateful for Sophia's continued support of the Hospice and the unusual donation of the two pictures - paintings `Moonlight Sparkle The Thames` and `Tower Bridge By Moonlight` By Andrew Grant Kurtis BA(Hons) MA(Lon).
Our thought was to auction them off at our 25th Anniversary Peaky Blinders themed Charity Ball on 14th June but after researching the pictures and the explanation from Sophia in detail about exactly what she had donated, has made us want to ensure that we get the opportunity to raise as much money as we can from such an extraordinary gift to the Hospice. As such, we are currently looking into the best option to maximise income from them that will go towards our patient care."
The hospice provides help and support to people with life-limiting illnesses such as Cancer, Heart Disease or Parkinson's. This care strives to improve the quality of life for patients and their families by providing pain and symptom relief, spiritual and social support; and counselling and bereavement services.
The care is free for patients and their families but not free to provide and so have to raise additional funding to stay open. Barnsley Hospice relies heavily on public and company donations, legacies, grants, community and nine charity shops.
A special celebration takes place at an Open day on June 23rd Sunday marking 25 years of first class care. For more information on Barnsley Hospice including a list of celebration events just click here https://www.barnsleyhospice.org/
